Steve Lister, Commercial Director at Floreon was asked to sit on the panel and help judge the British Sign Association Awards 2014.
The British Sign Association Awards have been created to celebrate the skills and the creativity of the UK sign industry. This is the very first British Sign Association Awards, which is to become an annual event, with the aim of showcasing British sign making and recognise the achievements of sign businesses.
The British Sign and Graphics Association hosted the event which was held at Villa Park Football Ground in Birmingham. The awards were judged by a panel of independent experts. The BSGA Awards included total of nine individual signmaker categories.
The winning entry from each category moved forward to be judged for the most prestigious award of all – the 2014 Sign of the Year
Steve Lister was delighted to be asked to sit on the panel stating that:
“It was an honor to be asked to judge at these exciting and new awards. It was brilliant to see the best of British design and ingenuity showcased at this event and acknowledging the hard work and creativity that is a fundamental part of the industry.”
Floreon Transforming Packaging was founded back in 2011 from a desire for a greener, safer form of water bottle for office water coolers. The company is based in Hull and has developed the product through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with The University of Sheffield. The KTP was successful and was awarded outstanding from a board of external grading panel.
Floreon is still undergoing trials for injection moulding on cosmetic trays, blow moulding of bottles, extruded sheets for printing and 3D filament which indicates a very bright future for Floreon as the world’s most versatile bioplastic.← Return to Article Archives
