Floreon, the No.1 performing bioplastic.

Floreon is a specially formulated compound, which is added to standard bioplastic, polylactic acid (PLA) to create an innovative material with a sustainable origin and a range of end of life options.

It was created from a desire for a greener, safer form of plastic. Unhappy with the options available we decided to develop our own. After four years and a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Sheffield a unique, environmentally friendly, fully compostable and high performing bioplastic was born.

The global production capacity for bioplastics amounted to over 1.5 million tonnes in 2012. As more facilities go on-stream, production of bioplastics is projected to increase to over 6 million tonnes by the year 2017.

    Shaun started his own business (CPD plc) in 1988 and it soon became one of the UK's largest independant distributors of cleaning and hygeine products. He is the founder and Chief Executive of Floroen.

    Technical Director

    Andrew helped develop Floreon through a KTP with the University of Sheffield. He is Technical Director of Floreon BSc, Chemistry, MSc Chemistry with Biochemistry & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

    With 16 years experience in business development within the environment, food and agri–tech sectors, Deborah brings a wide range of contacts to Floreon including heads of sustainability at major supermarket chains, international brands and manufacturers.
